Demesne
Lisa Stewart (Soprano) and Michael Handy (Tenor) met in 2014 when they were cast as lovers Elsie and Fairfax in The Yeomen of the Guard. In addition to both working full-time in marketing, they have continued to perform together in various shows, concerts, and with two a cappella choirs ever since, and have ended up taking their on-stage chemistry to the stage of real life!
Michael has been performing in musicals and operatic productions since the age of 10, gaining lead children's parts in shows such as Oliver! and The Secret Garden. More recently he has performed such diverse roles as Utterson in Jekyll & Hyde, Lead Tenor in The Messiah, Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore, and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus. His High Tenor voice means he also specialises in music of the Baroque and Early Romantic Repertoire. Michael is currently rehearsing for the role of Spalanzani in The Tales of Hoffmann with Rockdale Opera, as well as the role of Joe Collins in Reedy River with FAMS this July!
Lisa has also been involved in singing and acting since childhood, and as a teenager performed such diverse roles as Eliza Doolittle in a cabaret version of My Fair Lady, the fairy Moth in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. More recently, she has played such roles as Goneril in King Lear, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Lucy Lockit in The Beggar’s Opera, Elsie in The Yeomen of the Guard, and a variety of leading roles in pantomimes - fitting for someone whose part-time job is as a piano teacher for Infants school children! Lisa will next play opposite Michael in Reedy River, as Mary Collins.
Together they will delight you with solos and duets from opera, operetta, and music theatre...with a smattering of folk to provide a taste of what will be on offer in Reedy River this July in Narrabeen!
“Chrystian Dozza is, today, one of the great compositional talents of Brazilian guitar. Chrystian's song catches the listener's attention by its diversified quality and, many times its innovative quality as well. There are many references in his music, but all of them adapted to his refined personal view. With his combination of formalism and freedom, Chrystian gives us pieces that will certainly make their way into the traditional repertoire of the Brazilian guitar scene.” - Sérgio Assad
